A 25-year-old Nigerian lady who recently received ₦1 million from popular TikToker Peller has addressed questions surrounding her lifestyle, particularly why she owns an iPhone and sells wigs while her mother makes a living selling groundnuts.

The woman explained her family’s background in a widely circulated video, revealing that her mother has been involved in the groundnut business for more than three decades.

According to her, she is the fourth of her mother’s six children and was born while her mother was hawking goods by the roadside.

She also dismissed assumptions that someone else was financially responsible for her wig business, insisting that she built it with her own money.

“That business you are seeing, I raised up my money. I don’t have anybody giving me money,” she stated.

The young woman further revealed that she has encountered challenges with her apartment in Osogbo but has also made efforts to support her mother financially.

She disclosed that in 2024, she gave her mother ₦100,000 to enable her to start a business. However, her mother eventually began selling groundnuts and cocoa.

Before joining Peller’s livestream, the lady had reportedly promised to give her mother ₦50,000 if she received ₦200,000 from the TikToker.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the livestream ended with Peller gifting her ₦1 million.

Explaining why she made the promise to her mother, she said:

“Even before I sent the request, I said that mum if I send a request to this person and he pick me up, if he gives me 200,000, I’m going to give you 50,000,” she added.

Her explanation has since sparked reactions online, with many people discussing her family’s circumstances, business efforts and the financial support she has provided for her mother.
