Odumodublvck sparks reactions after asking President Tinubu for grant

Controversial rapper, Odumodublvck has sparked mixed reactions after asking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to provide financial assistance to him and his colleagues.

While reacting to a post on Tinubu’s X handle on Friday about the President’s meeting with entertainment and media executive, Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group in Paris, Odumodublvck urged President Tinubu not only to express pride in the prestige the entertainment industry has brought to Nigeria but also to support entertainers financially.

He wrote, “Baba come give boys advance from government funds. Na you go be the biggest label boss. Because of you, artists no go fight their labels and underground artists go see something.

“Baba, come sign all of us. And I mean all of us.”

Some fans bashed Odumodublvck over the post, berating him for choosing to react to the President’s Paris meeting while remaining silent on the incessant terrorism and hardship in the country.

Responding to his critics, Odumodublvck pointed out that artists hardly benefit from government support, unlike civil servants and business owners, who receive certain benefits.

He said he had yet to see an artiste whom the government had supported financially to make an album, despite entertainers, especially musicians, making the country proud globally.

“Jaga [Jagaban], give me to fly high. I deserve it, sir. Governmental backing for artists gatts dey,” he added.

Odumodublvck’s financial request from President Bola Tinubu has left many in shock because he previously made headlines and was applauded for reportedly turning down a huge amount of money to perform at a Tinubu campaign event.

His public request for financial assistance from the President, who is seeking re-election, a few months before Nigeria’s presidential election has raised questions about his integrity and political stance.
