  • Businessman Aliko Dangote has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for what he described as bold economic decisions, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the liberalisation of the exchange rate.
  • Dangote also commended the President over the development of his refinery, prompting mixed reactions from Nigerians online.

Businessman and Chairman of Dangote Industries, Aliko Dangote, has praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as bold moves in the Nigerian economy.

Dangote expressed his appreciation to Tinubu for removing fuel subsidy, liberalising the exchange rate and supporting the development of his refinery.

“I want to Thank President Tinubu for taking bold moves by removing the subsidy, by democratizing the exchange rate, and also for this refinery.”

His comments have since sparked reactions online, with some Nigerians questioning his praise of the President and arguing that the policies have placed pressure on ordinary citizens.

Others suggested that Dangote’s support for the reforms could be linked to the benefits they have brought to his business.
