In His Victory At The Elections Revealed
When Governor Ademola Adeleke stepped into the political arena for another battle for the Osun State Government House, he had more than political structures and party loyalists to count on.
Two women who have occupied important places in his life were also part of the story. They are his two wives, Chief Mrs. Titilola Adebusola Adeleke and Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke.
Different in personality, public roles and the ways in which they engage with society, both women have continued to support the governor and his administration.
And as Adeleke emerged victorious in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, securing another term in office, their presence became part of the wider story behind the victory.
TITILOLA: THE VISIBLE CAMPAIGN VOICE
As the officially recognised First Lady of Osun State, Titilola Adeleke had a particularly visible role during the tense days leading to the election. She was not simply watching the political battle from the sidelines. On August 10, just days before the election proper, Titilola led a group of women to the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo to protest alleged voter intimidation and demand a credible and peaceful election.
The appearance was significant. It placed the First Lady at the centre of the conversation around women, voters, security and peaceful participation. Her approach also reflected the identity she has developed over the years, one strongly associated with women, children, grassroots engagement and social development. For a campaign fighting to retain power, that softer connection with ordinary people can be valuable.
MORE THAN THE GOVERNOR’S WIFE
Titilola’s contribution was not simply about being married to the candidate. She had already built a public profile of her own as a sociologist, businesswoman, philanthropist and First Lady.
That gave her the opportunity to speak to women and families in a language different from the usual political campaign rhetoric.
Her public advocacy around peaceful voting and participation also helped reinforce the message that the election should be decided by the people rather than intimidation or violence. On election day, she and Governor Adeleke were also seen exercising their franchise in Ede North.
NGOZI: THE OTHER WOMAN SUPPORTING

Then there is Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke, the governor’s other wife. While Titilola has the formal title of First Lady, Ngozi has also maintained a public presence as the governor’s wife and supporter.
Indeed, Governor Adeleke has previously described Ngozi as a dependable partner and supporter both at home and in state governance.
Her contribution during the 2026 election was expressed in a somewhat different manner. On election day, Ngozi urged residents who had not yet voted to come out and exercise their civic responsibility. After casting her own ballot, she said voting was peaceful at her polling unit and encouraged other eligible voters to participate.
That was a simple message, but an important one in an election where turnout and public confidence were crucial.
HER ROLE DOES NOT END WITH ELECTION DAY
Following her husband’s victory, Ngozi publicly congratulated him and spoke about continuing to support his administration.
She particularly pledged to increase her personal contribution to the government’s empowerment efforts, with an emphasis on expanding programmes designed to help people across the state. This is consistent with the role Governor Adeleke has previously associated with her, supporting the family and contributing to governance through humanitarian and empowerment activities.
TWO WOMEN, DIFFERENT STYLES
What makes the Adeleke family story particularly interesting is that the two women have not necessarily occupied exactly the same space. Titilola is the officially recognised First Lady. The Osun State Government has repeatedly identified her in that capacity, including during the 2024 visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.
Ngozi, meanwhile, remains an important member of the governor’s family and has continued to appear publicly in support of him and his administration. Rather than viewing their roles simply as competing positions, their recent activities suggest two different forms of support around the same man.
THE SOFT POWER OF FAMILY
Politics is ultimately about people. Behind every campaign are conversations in homes, communities, markets, religious circles, women’s groups and among ordinary voters. For Adeleke, having two women publicly associated with his family and administration provides another layer to his political image.
Titilola brings the established First Lady’s platform, grassroots visibility and advocacy for women and peaceful participation.
Ngozi brings her own network, public voice and empowerment-oriented activities, while openly encouraging voters and supporting the administration.
Neither woman can reasonably be described as the person who single-handedly delivered Adeleke’s victory. Elections are won through a combination of candidates, political structures, voters, campaign teams and many other factors.
But both women were part of the support system surrounding the governor as he sought another mandate.
AND ADELEKE WON AGAIN!
When the votes were finally counted, Adeleke emerged victorious and secured a second term.
For the governor, it was another major milestone in his political journey. For Titilola and Ngozi, it was also a moment to celebrate the success of a man they had supported in different ways.
The victory therefore tells more than a political story. It tells the story of a family, two women and the different forms of support that can exist behind a public figure. Titilola and Ngozi may occupy different spaces around Governor Ademola Adeleke, but during the 2026 re-election battle, both women had one thing in common: they stood publicly with the man they call their husband.
And as the governor begins his second term, their roles may become even more interesting to watch, particularly in the areas of women’s empowerment, humanitarian work, grassroots engagement and social development.
