The Weekly Blast: The World Misses Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift Expands Her Family & More

Country legend Dolly Parton might be gone, but she can never be forgotten. As the world continues to mourn her absence, the jury in the Lindsay Clancy trial could not reach a unanimous conclusion. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce also decided to give fans their first look at their fluffy white puppy. Keep scrolling to check out the biggest news and updates from the last week.
On September 1, her Hollywood Walk of Fame star was sadly vandalized as many continue to pay tribute to the late country icon.
Her first cousin shared rare details of her “small” burial ceremony, and Jane Fonda fought back tears, remembering her late friend shortly after the funeral.
Her creative director revealed the promise he kept to her for 35 years while fans revisited her fiery 1987 performance of “Great Balls of Fire” and her surprising cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven.”
Famous fans have also been paying tribute to her through their music, including the likes of Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, and John Mayer. Her hometown in East Tennessee also paid tribute as locals remembered her for her generosity and lasting legacy.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Have A New Family Member
4Although Taylor Swift put her wedding ring on full display during her first performance since marrying Travis Kelce, new reports have indicated that she was “frustrated” with their “short” honeymoon as he returns to training for another NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kelce, however, seems to be doing great, as he showed off the newest member of their family: a Samoyed puppy named Wendy. He posed with the pooch while starring in Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 2026 campaign.
It was also revealed this week that Kelce quietly closed on a $5.35 million home in March, months before the two tied the knot. The lakefront estate is in Bratenahl, Ohio, and sits on a 3.5-acre lot measuring about 21,000 square feet.
The Latest Updates In The Lindsay Clancy Trial
4Things took a turn in the trial this week, as a lawyer demanded a juror’s removal over claims that he “refuses to listen to the law.” This led Clancy’s attorney to make a desperate move to prevent the judge from declaring a mistrial.
Despite pushing for one final hour in an attempt to preserve the proceedings, Judge William Sullivan formally declared a mistrial after the jury remained unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
Following Friday’s shocking move, legal expert Neama Rahmani told PEOPLE magazine that Clancy “will be prosecuted” because “There is too much political pressure. This is how district attorneys get voted out of office, if they cut her loose or they even cut a deal. Three children are dead.”
According to Rahmani, Clancy will remain in custody after the mistrial ruling. “Depending on the judge’s schedule, in the next few months, late 2026 or early 2027, we start [the proceedings] all over,” Rahmani told the publication.
Clancy is currently being held without bail at Tewksbury State Hospital, a state hospital where she continues to receive treatment. She has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of her three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan.
Clancy pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, has argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and overmedication during the killings.
