“This Case Will Teach The Country A Lesson” – VDM Reacts After Mr P Admits Receiving $800,000 In Royalties

  • VeryDarkBlackMan has reacted after P-Square singer Peter Okoye admitted in court that he received about $800,000 in royalties from SACEM.
  • The social commentator said the development highlighted what he described as the danger of hearing only one side of a dispute and claimed that Peter had previously given him incomplete information about the matter.

Social commentator VeryDarkBlackMan has reacted to Peter Okoye’s recent testimony in court concerning about $800,000 in royalties from P-Square’s musical works.

Peter, also known as Mr P, admitted before a Federal High Court in Lagos that he received approximately $800,000 from French music rights organisation SACEM between 2016 and 2026. He, however, maintained that the money belonged to him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and said he did not give Jude Okoye any share.

Reacting in a post on Instagram, VeryDarkBlackMan said the development should teach Nigerians to avoid judging disputes based on one side of the story.

“I don’t know how the people that were so quick to judge will feel about Peter admitting in court yesterday that he has received $800,000 dollars in royalties after he claimed in the part 3 of his series that he has never received dollars as royalties,” he wrote.

He added that he had initially considered making a video against Jude after hearing Peter’s side but chose not to, and said he was only learning about the $800,000 disclosure after it emerged in court.

“THIS CASE WILL TEACH THE WHOLE COUNTRY A LESSON ABOUT THE DANGER OF A ONE-SIDED STORY,” VeryDarkBlackMan added.

He also claimed that Peter “USED everyone including me” and advised the public to obtain the certified true copy of the court proceedings to better understand the case.
