Troops Destroy Terrorists’ Health Facility In Katsina

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised one terrorist and recovered four motorcycles during an offensive in suspected terrorists health facility in Dan Musa local government area of Katsina State.

The operation was conducted on Friday by troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma.

The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, disclosed this on Saturday in a statement issued in Gusau, Zamfara State, the operational headquarters of Operations Fansan Yamma.

According to him, the operation followed credible intelligence on the presence of terrorists in the general area of Yantumaki Forest.

Danja said troops conducted a coordinated offensive and engaged the terrorists with maximum firepower, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bushes.

“During exploitation of the area, troops confirmed the neutralisation of one terrorist and recovered four motorcycles, one mobile phone and five empty intravenous drip containers, suspected to have been used in the treatment of wounded terrorists,” he said.

The spokesman stated that the successful operation further demonstrated the commitment of troops of Operation Fansan Yamma to sustain pressure on terrorist networks and degrade their operational capabilities.

He added that the troops are determined to deny terrorists freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.

Danja urged members of the public to continue to support security agencies with relevant information to enable the theatre to eradicate terrorist elements within the Joint Operations Area.

Operation Fansan Yamma is the military operation covering the North West region, with the mandate to tackle banditry, kidnapping and terrorism in the zone.
