Content creator Jarvis has opened up about the challenges she faced while growing up, sharing how her difficult family circumstances influenced her journey and shaped the person she is today.
Speaking during a recent interactive session at Pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s church in the United Kingdom, Jarvis revealed that she was raised mainly by her grandparents. She described them as strict, but acknowledged that their discipline gave her the structure she needed while navigating a difficult childhood.
The content creator also spoke about growing up without knowing her father and having a mother who lives with bipolar disorder, circumstances she said made life particularly challenging for her and her family.
According to Jarvis, there were periods when her family struggled to afford her school fees, while getting enough food to eat also became a serious concern.
Recalling those difficult moments, she said:
“We were always hungry, and we’ll go to TikTok and be watching food just to get satisfied, salivate, and at the end of the day we would cry and pray and just say, God, help us,” she said.
Jarvis explained that her journey into TikTok livestreaming began after a friend introduced her to the platform. She recalled earning her first $5 after a livestream with her sister attracted about 200 views.
Determined to improve their situation, Jarvis and her sister continued livestreaming with the hope of raising enough money to support their education and take care of some of their basic needs.
She noted that their decision to venture into social media was not initially supported by their family, but they remained determined to continue.
Interestingly, Jarvis also revealed that her relationship with fellow content creator Peller began through livestreaming.
According to her, Peller initially expressed interest in her sister before eventually turning his attention towards her. Jarvis said she initially discouraged his advances because she believed he was better suited to her sister.
“I met Peller on live stream. He was wooing my sister. He was liking me but I was like, Bro, don’t talk to me. Talk to my sister,” she added.
Jarvis explained that, at the time, she only saw Peller as someone she could collaborate with on content. She said she never imagined that their friendship and content creation partnership would eventually develop into a romantic relationship.
Her revelation has offered fans a glimpse into the difficult experiences she faced before gaining recognition online and building a successful career as a content creator.
