ADC Candidate, House of Rep., Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1

Today, I, Omodu Jack West Worlu, formally declare my candidacy for the House of Representatives to represent Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1 under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

I am stepping forward because I believe that PHC1 deserves purposeful, accessible and people-centred representation at the National Assembly.

I am not seeking political office merely to occupy a position. I offer myself to serve with character, compassion, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the people.

For too long, our constituency, the heart of Port Harcourt, has been blessed with enormous talent, creativity, enterprise and human potential. Yet many of our people still face significant challenges.

Our youths are talented, ambitious and innovative, but many lack the opportunities and platforms required to transform their skills into sustainable livelihoods. Our traders, artisans and small-business owners work hard every day, yet often operate without adequate support. Our communities also require better infrastructure, stronger advocacy and more responsive representation.

This must change. And together, we can change it.

MY AGENDA FOR PHC 1

My vision for Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1 is built around three key pillars:

1. YOUTH GROWTH AND EMPOWERMENT

Our young people are the future of PHC1, and they must be equipped with the knowledge, skills and opportunities required to participate meaningfully in the economy of today and tomorrow.

I will champion initiatives focused on technology, creativity, entrepreneurship, skills development and self-awareness, while advocating practical programmes that can create pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

These will include support for digital hubs, creative-industry opportunities, vocational and technical training, entrepreneurship development and skills-to-wealth initiatives designed to help young people turn their talents into productive economic opportunities.

2. PEOPLE-CENTRED REPRESENTATION

Representation must begin with listening.

I will work to ensure that the concerns of Old Port Harcourt, Town and the various communities within PHC1 receive appropriate attention at the National Assembly.

From infrastructure and education to healthcare, small-business development and youth empowerment, I will consistently advocate policies and programmes that address issues affecting the everyday lives of our people.

My office will remain accessible, responsive and connected to the constituency.

The people should not have to struggle to reach the person they elected to represent them.

3. BOLD, TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP

I am stepping forward with confidence in my ability to provide young, intelligent, bold and purposeful leadership.

I believe elected representatives must remain accountable to the people who entrusted them with their mandate.

That is why I intend to maintain an open channel of communication with constituents and provide regular updates on my activities, legislative interventions and constituency engagements.

The people deserve to know what their representative is doing with the mandate entrusted to him.

WHY ADC?

I chose the African Democratic Congress (ADC) because I identify with its message of fresh ideas, inclusion and people-focused politics.

Nigeria needs greater space for new voices, new thinking and stronger connections between citizens and those who represent them.

For me, this campaign is about giving the people of PHC1 an opportunity to participate in building a new model of representation—one that places the interests of the people at the centre.

A CALL TO THE PEOPLE OF PHC1

I therefore call on our youths, mothers, fathers, traders, artisans, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders and all residents of Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1 to join this movement.

This is bigger than one individual.

It is about our communities.

It is about our children.

It is about our future.

It is about the kind of representation we want for PHC1.

This is not just an election.

It is an opportunity to participate in shaping the future of our constituency and strengthening the voice of our people.

Let us picture the future and make it happen.
