Fuji music veteran Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, has stirred reactions after a video showed him presenting his daughter, Damilola Ayinde Marshal, to Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, at an event.
In the video circulating on social media on Sunday, the musician called his daughter, popularly known as Dami Marshal, forward before telling Hamzat, “I hand her over to you.”
Hamzat responded with laughter and gestured towards Damilola’s seat, while the lawyer appeared amused by her father’s action.
The footage showed KWAM 1 singing in Yoruba as he made the gesture, which appeared to be a playful show of support for his daughter’s political ambition.
Damilola is seeking election to the Lagos State House of Assembly to represent Surulere Constituency II in the 2027 general elections.
She announced her ambition on March 17, 2026, in a post on her Instagram page, expressing her readiness to serve the constituency.
“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly,” she wrote.
The lawyer said her 12 years of legal practice had strengthened her understanding of governance, justice and the needs of her community.
She also pledged to represent young people, describing herself as prepared to serve and lead if elected.
Beyond her legal career, Damilola serves as Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism.

The video has drawn attention to her political ambition as preparations for the 2027 elections continue. However, KWAM 1’s gesture at the event does not, on its own, establish any formal political endorsement by Hamzat or the APC.
