Rev Dachomo Lands in Israel to Brief Netanyahu on Plateau Killings

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, has arrived in Israel as part of an international campaign over the killings and insecurity affecting communities in Plateau State and other parts of Nigeria.
Dachomo arrived in Israel on Friday, October 2, 2026, with plans to use the visit to draw international attention to what he describes as the persecution and killing of Christians in Plateau and the wider Middle Belt.
The cleric is expected to seek an audience with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where he intends to present his concerns about the security situation in Nigeria.
He is also expected to participate in meetings and prayer activities involving Christian groups and prayer warriors from different countries.
The visit is coming days after Dachomo publicly thanked Netanyahu and United States President Donald Trump for drawing attention to the situation of Christians and religious violence at the international level.
The Plateau cleric has become one of the prominent voices speaking about attacks on Christian communities in the state.
He has repeatedly appeared at burial ceremonies for victims of attacks and used the occasions to call for greater international attention to the violence.
His latest trip, according to details he shared on social media, is his first international Christian advocacy tour.
Dachomo said the trip was necessary because he wanted the situation in Plateau and Nigeria to receive attention beyond the country.
He also said he would use the opportunity to pray for Nigerians affected by violence, irrespective of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
“By the mercy of God, I will be addressing the world in Israel,” Dachomo announced.
The cleric said he expected to meet preachers and Christian prayer groups from different parts of the world during the programme.
“Preachers from America, from China, from around the world—we will meet face-to-face. I am coming to stand for Nigeria and to pray for our nation: for Muslims being killed in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto and Katsina; for Christians; for my Biafran brothers; and for the release of Nnamdi Kanu from Sokoto prison.
“I am coming to pray against the Fulani terrorists who invaded my village and killed three people in my jurisdiction. I want to thank Benjamin Netanyahu. By God’s grace, if we meet one-on-one in Israel, I will share with him the agony of Christians in Nigeria.
“My government has said nothing about the persecution and genocide of Christians in Nigeria, yet it stands to advocate for the Palestinians and a two-state solution. If that is their position, then there should be two states in Nigeria as well, because Christians are not free. We are suffering under Sharia.
“When I land in Jerusalem, the demonic manipulation from the Kingdom of Islam will suffer violence through prayer.
“Prayer warriors from America, Canada, France, Spain and all over the world will gather to present the case of their nations. We ask God to show mercy upon all of us—including the Fulani terrorists. We love them,” he stated.
In September, Dachomo also thanked Trump and Netanyahu after making public comments about the situation in Nigeria.
He criticised what he described as the failure of the Nigerian government to adequately highlight attacks against Christians while speaking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Plateau insecurity issues has also attracted attention outside Nigeria.
In July, the United States condemned the killing of members of Dachomo’s extended family in Plateau State and called for those responsible to be held accountable.
The statement also urged stronger protection for Christians and other vulnerable communities in the Middle Belt.
The July attack reportedly claimed the lives of nine members of Dachomo’s extended family in Kum community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A two-month-old baby was among those reported killed. Dachomo subsequently said he had received threats and linked the attacks to his outspoken position on insecurity in the state.
The cleric has remained vocal despite the attacks and threats.
Earlier in 2026, he disclosed that he had received offers of asylum from countries including Australia and Austria but said he had decided to remain in Nigeria and continue speaking about the plight of affected communities.
His international campaign has also coincided with increased attention to violence in Plateau.
Reports from September documented fresh attacks around Barkin Ladi and other communities in the state, with several residents killed in separate incidents.
Dachomo’s decision to travel to Israel therefore comes against the issue of Plateau’s security situation beyond Nigeria’s borders.
His planned engagement with Netanyahu is expected to centre on his account of the attacks, the deaths of residents in Plateau communities and his appeal for international attention to the wider insecurity in Nigeria.
It remains unclear whether Dachomo will secure a private meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister.
His stated programme, however, indicates that he intends to use the trip to engage Christian leaders and prayer groups from several countries while presenting his concerns about Nigeria.
