Victoria Uwadoka Enters Brandcom Hall of Fame After 30 Years in Communications

Victoria Uwadoka, a leading Nigerian corporate communications, public affairs and sustainability professional, has been inducted into the Brandcom Awards Hall of Fame in recognition of her contributions to the marketing and communications industry spanning more than three decades.

The honour, announced by the editorial board and management of Brand Communicator, organisers of the 2026 Brandcom Awards, recognises Uwadoka’s professional accomplishments, industry leadership, mentorship and advocacy for responsible business practices.

The Brandcom Awards Hall of Fame is the programme’s highest distinction, reserved for individuals whose careers have made lasting contributions to organisations, the communications profession and society.

Announcing her induction, the organisers described Uwadoka as an exceptional industry leader whose influence extends beyond personal achievements to the development of the wider communications landscape.

They said her selection followed an assessment of her professional accomplishments, leadership, innovation, mentorship, industry influence and contributions to society.

Reacting to the recognition, Uwadoka expressed gratitude, describing the honour as an affirmation of the importance of strategic communication in building trust, promoting sustainable growth and creating lasting value for organisations and communities.

“I am honoured to receive this induction into the BRANDCOM Awards Hall of Fame, a recognition that celebrates not only professional achievement but also lasting contribution to industry, society and future generations of practitioners,” she said.

She added that the recognition was particularly significant following her retirement from Nestlé Nigeria, where she led Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability until October 21, 2026.

Uwadoka’s career spans several sectors, including entertainment, beauty and healthcare, information and communications technology, and food and beverages. Her experience across these industries shaped her approach to corporate communications as a strategic business function central to reputation management, stakeholder engagement and organisational growth.

Before joining Nestlé Nigeria in December 2016, she served as Marketing Communications Manager for Microsoft West and Central Africa, overseeing communications and marketing activities across French-speaking markets in the region.

At Nestlé Nigeria Plc, she was responsible for aligning corporate reputation, public affairs, stakeholder relationships and sustainability priorities with the company’s business objectives. Her work focused on strengthening engagement between the organisation and its stakeholders while positioning communications as an integral part of corporate leadership.

Beyond her corporate career, Uwadoka has played an active role in advancing professional standards and collaboration within the industry. She serves as Vice Chair for Africa of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Advertising and Marketing Commission and chairs the NECA Committee of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Experts.

Through these positions, she has contributed to conversations around ethical marketing, corporate communications standards, professional development and responsible business engagement.

She is also the founder of Pivot Nigeria: Reframing the Lens, an initiative advocating a more balanced narrative about Nigeria and encouraging perspectives that reflect the country’s potential, achievements and contributions.

Mentorship has remained another important part of her professional journey, with Uwadoka supporting emerging communications and public affairs practitioners and encouraging the development of strategic thinking, professional credibility and sound judgement within the industry.

Her career has earned her several recognitions, including inclusion in the Women in Marketing and Communications Africa (WIMCA) Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications, recognition as a PR Power List honouree, and awards for excellence in public relations, corporate reputation and responsible business.

Uwadoka’s induction also places her among distinguished figures recognised by the Brandcom Awards Hall of Fame. Among its previous honourees is Biodun Shobanjo, chairman of Troyka Holdings, who received the distinction at the inaugural edition in 2019.

Her recognition underscores the growing importance of strategic communications in corporate leadership, particularly as organisations navigate public scrutiny, changing stakeholder expectations and increasing demands for transparency and sustainability.

As she concludes her tenure at Nestlé Nigeria, the Hall of Fame induction marks a significant milestone in a career defined by corporate communications, industry advocacy, professional mentorship and public engagement.

Her professional journey highlights the role effective communication can play in strengthening institutions, nurturing talent and building trust between businesses and the communities they serve.
