A Nigerian lady has shared a heartwarming experience after a stranger returned her phone, which she had misplaced while on her way to church in Lagos.
The woman said she only realised her phone was missing shortly after alighting from a car. She immediately called her number, expecting the worst, but was surprised when a man who had found the device answered the call.
According to her, the stranger asked her to come to his location to retrieve the phone.
“I just lost my phone, I was going to church and when I got down from the car, I started looking for my phone. It was like a movie, and I started calling the number, and this guy picked it up and said I should come and meet him where he is,” she recounted.
She further revealed that the man had experienced a similar situation just a week earlier. However, unlike him, the person who found his phone refused to return it.
“This guy also lost his phone last week, and the person that picked it up didn’t return it. He doesn’t even have a phone and yet he returned my phone back to me. He’s kind. I’m so surprised that we still have nice, good people in our country,” she added.
The lady said the man’s actions left her deeply impressed, particularly because he could have decided to keep her phone after someone had previously failed to return his own.
She noted that the experience reminded her of the importance of not responding to wrongdoing with another wrongdoing.
She also expressed her appreciation for the stranger’s honesty and kindness, while praising people from Kogi State for the gesture.
