Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has felicitated with Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to pray for peace, unity, and national development.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor called on Muslim faithful to embrace the values of sacrifice, compassion, and selflessness associated with the celebration.
Oborevwori encouraged Muslims to continue the practice of almsgiving and support for vulnerable members of society, describing charity as a core principle of Islam.He also urged Nigerians to remain committed to serving humanity through acts of kindness and devotion, especially during difficult times.
The governor stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and called on citizens to promote harmony and tolerance during and after the festive period.
According to him, unity, prayers, and collective commitment to nation-building are essential for Nigeria’s progress in peace, security, and sustainable development. Oborevwori wished Muslims a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urged them to celebrate responsibly while reflecting on the values of faith, sacrifice, and love for humanity.
