Governor Alia Visits Victims Of Benue Community Attacks, Vows To Flush Out Terrorists From Benue

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has vowed that he will not rest on his oars, until he flushes out terrorists that have been causing mayhem in the state.

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS), to the governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Makurdi, on Tuesday.

He stated that the governor was in Otukpo, to commiserate with the people of the Local Government Area (LGA), over the attacks by armed herdsmen on Akpachi and Otukpo-Nobi, last weekend, which claimed the lives of 18 persons.

The Governor also visited surviving victims of the attack who are being treated at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, and directed that the victims should be given comprehensive treatment on the ticket of the state government.

Alia, explained that his government has done so much to arrest insecurity in the state by providing the needed logistics, motivation as well as complemented the strength of the security forces, stressing that he will continue to support security agencies in the state, until terrorists in the state were flushed out of Benue.

He also assured the people of the state of his determination to ensure the people of Benue were safe and their lands protected, even as he charged the people of the area to always be vigilant, identify suspicious moves and alert relevant authorities to nip potential threats in the bud.

Agaba’Idu Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, sympathised with the paramount ruler over the incidents.

He said, “It is my obligation to protect all lives in the state and I am assuring we shall never rest on our oars until peace fully return to our communities.” End
