Please Forgive, Reinstate And Post Me To A Village As Punishment — Bole Teacher Caught Chopping Student Apologies 

The Bole Senior High School science teacher, Sir Arafat dismissed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) over a viral video showing alleged sexual misconduct with a female student has issued a public apology and appealed to be reinstated, even if posted to a rural school.

In a video statement, the teacher, previously interdicted and later dismissed after GES suspended his salary and referred the matter to police, admitted his conduct was “unacceptable” but claimed the incident occurred after the student, a final-year student, had already completed her coursework. “Please forgive me, Ghanaians. What I did was unacceptable… Please reinstate me, you can even post me to a rural area,” he said.

GES first moved against the teacher after video showing him with the student inside the school’s science laboratory circulated widely on social media in June.

The Service subsequently interdicted him, suspended his salary when he failed to report to work, and asked the public to help authorities locate him for arrest and prosecution alongside internal disciplinary proceedings.

GES Director-General Professor Ernest Kofi Davis had described the conduct as unacceptable and a serious breach of professional and safeguarding standards.

The National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations has publicly called for the teacher’s prosecution and permanent removal from the teaching profession, describing the conduct as “a betrayal of trust.”
