Tom Holland Laughs Off Erling Haaland’s Dinner Snub

Hollywood star Tom Holland has finally addressed the viral story of being ignored by football sensation Erling Haaland after inviting him to dinner, joking that the experience was a healthy reality check.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon while promoting Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Holland admitted he reached out to Haaland after spotting him at the Monaco Grand Prix but never got a reply.

“That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors,” Holland said with a laugh.

“You’re like, ‘I’ll text him, I’ll take him to dinner.’ Not even a response. Not an excuse, not ‘I’m busy tonight, I’m playing football.’ Nada.”

The Spider-Man star revealed he decided to “shoot his shot” after seeing the Manchester City striker in a hospitality suite overlooking the Formula One race.

Despite the unanswered message, Holland insisted he has no hard feelings, describing Haaland as “an absolute legend.”

Haaland had previously explained the awkward mix-up during an appearance on Norwegian show A Laget, admitting he simply didn’t know who had texted him.

“This is a bit embarrassing,” the striker confessed. “I don’t watch movies much, so I have no idea who people are. There was one asking if we could go out for dinner, but I’d never seen him, so I didn’t bother to answer.”

After later discovering the message was from Holland, Haaland said he now plans to make amends.

“I think I’ll have to send him a message now. I’d completely forgotten about it,” he said.
