Nigerian media entrepreneur Mo Abudu has announced plans to open EbonyLife Place London, a new cultural and creative destination dedicated to showcasing African and Black creativity in the United Kingdom.
The venue, located on Wandsworth Road in London, is scheduled to open in October 2026 and is expected to bring cinema, art, food, and fashion together under one roof.
EbonyLife Place London is positioned as the UK’s first cultural and creative hub dedicated exclusively to African and Black cinema, art, food and fashion, marking another major step in Abudu’s efforts to take African stories and creative expression to global audiences.
The London project builds on the vision behind EbonyLife Place, which aims to create spaces where entertainment, culture, and lifestyle intersect, while providing platforms for African creativity.
For Abudu, the expansion into London represents an opportunity to create a dedicated space where audiences can experience African culture beyond the traditional cinema setting.
The hub is expected to provide a platform for African and Black filmmakers, artists, designers, chefs and other creatives, while also creating a space for audiences in London to engage with stories and experiences rooted in the continent and the wider Black diaspora.
The October opening will further expand the international footprint of the EbonyLife brand, which has become synonymous with African storytelling, film and entertainment.
With London serving as one of the world’s major cultural and creative capitals, the new destination is expected to position African creativity within an increasingly global cultural conversation.
As the October opening approaches, EbonyLife Place London is poised to become a new hub for African and Black cinema, art, fashion, food, and cultural experiences in the UK.
