The couple reportedly plans to relocate to the UK this month, along with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who will enroll in a British school in September.
Reacting to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move, a royal expert claims it’s because of their struggles abroad, while others claim the decision has left the duke’s estranged brother, Prince William, feeling “apoplectic.”

People Magazine broke the news, revealing that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to establish a private base in the country later this month along with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
This unexpected U-turn has reportedly left royal experts, insiders, and several family members completely stunned by the sudden shift in the couple’s long-term plans.
Reacting to the news, expert Richard FitzWilliams labeled it an “extraordinary development,” noting that, however, there’s a lot likely going on behind the scenes that has yet to be revealed related to the couple’s move.
“The first thought I have is that, frankly, they’ve failed to make it in the United States,” he told GBNews.
The expert continued, “We knew, Meghan’s As Ever, that there was a question mark about how well she was doing there…Harry lost Sentebale [his charity], and then he faces a lawsuit linked to that.”
Fitzwilliams further noted that their relocation could mean King Charles could show up for the 2027 Invictus Games, which may be part of the couple’s plan with their move back to the UK.
“Essentially, they failed to be A-listers in Hollywood. That was, as I understood it, the plan because they were so unhappy as senior working royals,” he said about Harry and Meghan, adding that Prince William likely won’t be “welcoming” of the Sussexes’ return.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Hunt said, “In the long term, the return of the Sussexes to the UK opens up the prospect of two rival courts, William’s and Harry’s.”
He explains that, while Harry will make significant progress in mending his relationship with his father, King Charles, shortly, the duke’s presence “will make it harder for his brother to duck a reconciliation,” and that “the surprise return of Harry and Meghan is likely to have left William apoplectic.”

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams reportedly told the Daily Mail that the decision to move was evidence that the Sussexes were a “disastrous failure in the US” after their relocation to North America six years ago.

PR expert Andy Barr told the Daily Mail that Harry and Meghan would require a “Lazarus-esque” PR to recover their reputation among the British public, fully suggesting they would need a miracle.

However, PR consultant Tom Garcia-Bridgeman believes that the British public would “likely welcome them back with open arms”.
He explained to the Daily Mail that “the two camps of royalists see Harry as either the ill-treated son of Princess Diana, or the wayward son of the King that may finally be seeing sense.”
