“How can you construct a road without drainage?” a concerned resident asked while lamenting the impact of the flooding.

The development has also prompted calls on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to address the condition of the road and drainage system.

Recent reports have documented concerns over deep potholes and waterlogged portions of the Onitsha-Owerri Road, with motorists calling for repairs.
