A Nigerian lady has recounted how she once mistakenly drank kerosene after returning home from school, revealing that the incident happened because she was thirsty.
The lady, identified as @PeculiarpearlE on X (formerly Twitter), shared the experience in a post that has since attracted reactions from social media users.
According to her, she had arrived from school and, feeling thirsty, picked up what she thought was water. However, she unknowingly drank kerosene instead.
She revealed that she later collapsed, with that moment being the last thing she could remember from the incident.
Thankfully, her neighbours quickly came to her aid and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she eventually recovered.
The experience also prompted a change at home, as her mother stopped buying kerosene or storing it in a keg following the incident.
Looking back on the frightening experience, the lady expressed gratitude to God for sparing her life.
“I eventually became fine.
Ever since that day, my mum never bought or stored kerosene inside a keg again.
I’m just grateful to God for life”, she added.
Her story has since sparked reactions from X users, with many sharing their thoughts on the childhood ordeal.
