Olivia Dunne In Plunging Swimsuit Does Cartwheel Split At The Beach: ‘2028 Olympics Here We Come’
Once a gymnast, always a gymnast — just ask Olivia Dunne!
The former LSU Tiger shared a TikTok post in which she showcased her gymnastics skills at the beach. She was joined by her friend, Olivia Ponton, whom she fondly calls her “twin.”
Dunne, 23, who announced her verbal commitment to LSU in 2017, rocked a striped gray one-piece swimsuit featuring a plunging neckline that bared her cleavage. She paired the swimwear with white, flowy pants. For Ponton, 24, she wore a black bikini top and red shorts.
While soaking up the sun at the beach, Ponton went on first and did a cartwheel, followed by Dunne, who did the same but ended her performance with the splits.
Will Olivia Dunne Return To Gymnastics?
In the caption of the clip, posted Tuesday, September 1, Dunne may have hinted at a return to gymnastics.
“2028 Olympics here we come!” she wrote.
While Dunne has showcased her gymnastics skills throughout her career, fans were still in awe of what she can do. A hopeful fan commented, “I had a dream last night that Livvy was back at LSU,” while another remarked, “You’re amazing Livvy what u do.”
A third user noted, “I see a gold medal in your future!”

Retiring From Gymnastics
Dunne hung up her leotard in April 2025 when her college gymnastics career came to an end. At the time, the Tigers finished third in the NCAA semifinals, and she was unable to compete due to an injury. She bid her favorite sport goodbye by sharing a message on X.
“Couldn’t have asked for a better 5 years! Thank you, LSU,” Dunne wrote shortly after the meet, followed by a second update, “[peace] out gymnastics it’s been real… and of course forever LSU!”
The gymnast also announced her retirement in a video posted on her social media accounts.
“Time flies when you’re having fun,” she said. “That’s exactly how the past 20 years in this sport have felt.”
Dunne, who was a member of the U.S. national team before joining LSU, was part of the Tigers’ success in 2024, when they received their first-ever NCAA team title.
“Gymnastics, you have filled my heart and will always be a part of me,” she stated. “You’ve shaped me into the person I am today, creating memories and sisterhoods that will last a lifetime beyond the sport. You are my first love.”
The athlete also thanked her parents, club coaches and the LSU staff for their contributions to her career and development.
“And yes, time did fly by. And I will cherish every memory for the rest of my life,” Dunne said in the closing moments of the video. “Thank you for everything, gymnastics. You were so good to me.”
‘Trying’ Gymnastics A Year Later
A year later, Dunne tried her hand at gymnastics again at the Tigers gym, as seen in a video shared on TikTok. She began by doing “a lil warm up” before moving on to a series of aerials. Her first attempt had her in “complete and utter shock.”
Dunne went for it again and did her “old floor routine choreography.” After completing the set, she described her performance as “kinda [fire].”
In the caption, the retired gymnast wrote: “Who you calling washed?!”
