Singer Mayorkun says losing a friend can hit harder than a breakup with a partner.
He shared his view on the In My Opinion podcast.
He said people put more into friendships because real friendship means you actually like the other person and enjoy their company.
A romantic relationship has a physical side, but friendship is mostly about companionship and good times together.
He also said it can be hard to trust someone new after a friendship ends.
“So if the thing ends, don’t worry, you will get a new girlfriend before you get a new friend,” he joked.
He added that after a friendship breaks, many people do not want to start another close one, unless they are the type who calls everyone a friend.
“You will get a new girlfriend before you will get a new friend…”
