Nnorom, Former Lawmaker Emerges NASME National President, Commends FG’s Initiatives On MSME

AWKA – Former lawmaker, Honourable Theo Nnorom, who represented Ihiala 1 state Constituency in Anambra House of Assembly has been elected the National President of Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME).

Nnorom pulled a total of 87 votes to emerge winner of the Presidential Election at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association held at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Abuja.

Other positions contested for included Deputy National President South, the Deputy National President North, Zonal Vice Presidents from the six geopolitical zones and other National positions.

Speaking shortly after the election, Nnorom thanked outgoing Council led by Dr. Abdulrasheed Yerima, vowing to reposition the association to meet members’ need to enable them actualize their vision for setting up their businesses.

He assured that part of his strategy would be to dialogue and partner with stakeholders within Nigeria’s SME Ecosystem, establish platforms that would support ease of doing business and create market opportunities through strategic partnerships with local and international markets.

While lauding federal government for its laudable initiatives towards growing Nigeria’s Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Ecosystem, Nnorom pleaded more efforts from stakeholders to ensure Business Owners across Nigeria carried out their businesses in conducive and economy friendly atmosphere.

The meeting was attended by state chairmen from the 36 States of the federation with their delegates for the NASME General Assembly.
