“If There Is Evidence Against Me, Let It Be Produced”- Senator Shehu Buba Submits Himself To DSS, Police, DIA

• Senator Shehu Buba’s decision to submit himself for investigation follows renewed allegations arising from a viral video circulated by D English Alhaji. The lawmaker has asked the DSS, Police and DIA to investigate the allegations, insisting that he has nothing to fear or hide.

Senator representing Bauchi South, Shehu Buba Umar, has voluntarily submitted himself to the Department of State Services, DSS, Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, and Nigeria Police Force for investigation following fresh allegations linking him to banditry.

The development comes after a viral video circulated by content creator D English Alhaji, with a claim that it showed suspected bandit kingpins visiting a senator’s residence.

The video triggered renewed allegations against Buba, with the senator subsequently denying that the men shown in the footage were bandits or that the clip proved any connection between him and criminal elements.

Buba said the viral footage had combined unrelated videos and was being circulated as part of what he described as a campaign of disinformation and character assassination.

He later said his lawyers had written to the DSS, DIA and Police requesting a comprehensive investigation into the allegations, stressing that he was ready to face the outcome of any credible probe.

“I have nothing to fear, and nothing to hide.”

The senator also challenged those making the allegations to submit their evidence to the appropriate authorities instead of relying on social media.

“Do not hide behind social media. Do not rely on edited videos, insinuations, propaganda or anonymous allegations.”

Buba said the latest controversy began after D English Alhaji circulated the video in August 2026, alleging that bandit kingpins had visited his residence.

According to the senator, fact-checking showed that the footage actually contained unrelated clips, including footage of Hajj returnees who visited his residence in 2023 and another clip featuring people displaying passports.

The controversy was later followed by separate allegations from a man identified as Hassan Husseini, who accused Buba of allegedly aiding bandits and made claims involving individuals linked to notorious bandit leader Dogo Gide. Buba has also denied those allegations.

The senator said he was willing to cooperate with the security agencies and maintained that any credible evidence against him should be properly investigated.
