Edochie announced that she was officially kicking off her campaign for the duo, who are the Nigeria Democratic Congress’ presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The NDC has confirmed Obi as its presidential candidate and Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 election.

In a post shared on social media, the actress criticised supporters of the All Progressives Congress, claiming that backing the party showed that an individual was more concerned about personal interests than the country.

“If you are supporting APC, it means you are just after your pockets not for the betterment of our country Nigeria,” she wrote.

Edochie said she was campaigning for the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket and described it as a path towards achieving a better Nigeria.

She also called on voters to reject vote buying, political thuggery and other forms of electoral malpractice.

“Say no to vote buying, say no to political thuggery, say no to grabbing, snatching and running with the people’s mandate,” she stated.

She further urged Nigerians to vote for what she described as “capacity” and specifically called for support for Peter Obi and the NDC in 2027.
