The Obi/Kwankwaso Movement, popularly known as OK Movement, has described itself as one of the largest and most organised political movements in Nigeria, with a growing presence across states, local governments, wards and polling units.
This was disclosed in Lafia, Nasarawa State, by the deputy director-general of the movement, Prince Abubakar Suleiman.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Prince Suleiman said the strength of the movement lies not merely in numbers, but in its ability to bring together people from different political backgrounds, groups, parties and institutions around a common vision and shared principles.
According to him, the ideology of the OK Movement is firmly rooted in Integrity, Competence, Equity, Unity and Justice, which remain the foundation of the organisation and the driving force behind its progress.
“The values remain the foundation of our organisation and the driving force behind the progress we have achieved through commitment, discipline, grassroots mobilisation, and effective leadership,” he said.
Suleiman praised the Director General of the OK Movement, John Ughulu, for his ruggedness, describing his leadership as pivotal to the movement’s growth and national spread.
He also expressed pride in the movement’s ward, state, and local government coordinators, whose dedication, he said, has helped build a formidable grassroots structure across the country.
The movement, he said, will continue to work with its chosen political platform, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), and mobilise support for the party’s candidates in accordance with its collective political objectives.
On its election strategy, Prince Suleiman said the 10-man structure at every polling station is not simply about numbers or data collection, but about building a disciplined network of trained and committed members who understand their responsibilities before, during and after elections.
He outlined the core responsibilities of members as campaigning for the party, voting for every NDC candidate, protecting the integrity of votes, and defending the mandate through lawful and democratic means.
“The OK Movement is built on people, principles, structure and purpose. Together, we remain organised. Together, we remain focused. Together, Nigeria will be OK,” he added.
The movement concluded with its slogan: “One People, One Purpose, One Destiny.”
