Senator Tokunbo Abiru bags Nairametrics Legislative Excellence Award for advancement of financial services sector

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, on Friday was honoured with the Legislative Excellence Award for Financial Sector Advancement at the 2026 Naijaonpoint Capital Market Awards held in Lagos.

Speaking after receiving the award, Senator Abiru expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition, describing it as a reflection of the collective efforts of stakeholders working to strengthen Nigeria’s financial and capital market ecosystem.

Abiru, who had a distinguished career in the financial services sector before joining public service, reiterated his commitment to supporting policies and legislative initiatives aimed at deepening the capital market, enhancing investor confidence, and promoting sustainable economic growth.
