“The Economy Has Changed Men” — Lady Says Finding a Committed Partner Now ‘Takes the Grace of God’

A Nigerian woman has sparked conversations on social media after sharing her views on how the current economic climate is affecting dating and relationships.

In a viral video, the lady revealed that she has been single for four years despite receiving attention from men, claiming that most of those who approach her are either married or much older.

She explained that while she initially wondered if something was wrong with her, she eventually concluded that the challenges many men face in today’s economy have changed the way they approach relationships.

According to her, younger men who express interest are often looking for casual arrangements rather than committed relationships.

“I’ve been single for four good years now. I won’t say men don’t approach me, but the type of men that approach me are people’s husbands—married men, older men. And I’m like, what’s going on? I’m just in my twenties,” she said.

The woman disclosed that she even sought spiritual guidance at one point because she questioned why she was still single.

“Later I figured out that nothing’s wrong with me because at some point I even went for prayers,” she added.

She went on to argue that the country’s economic situation has significantly affected many men, making long-term commitment less common.

“I’ve now noticed that a lot of men are going through a lot. This economy has turned men into something else. Nobody has time,” she said.

According to her, even younger men who approach her are more interested in transactional relationships than serious commitments.

“Even the young ones coming to me are like, ‘Let’s just do business.’ Nobody wants to be committed again,” she said.

She also remarked that the economy has changed some people’s behavior, adding that finding a genuinely committed partner now feels increasingly difficult.

“The economy is really messing with people. It takes the grace of God to find a good man now,” she concluded.

Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that financial pressures are affecting modern relationships, while others argued that commitment depends more on individual values than economic circumstances.
