Watch Moment Ghanaian Soldiers Forced Two Young Galamseyers To Mop Highway After Their Galamsey Activities Dragged Clay Onto The Road
Two young men have reportedly been ordered by soldiers to clean muddy water from galamsey activities that had spilled onto the Manso Afedie–Kumasi road, after the pollution disrupted movement and created difficulties for road users.
In the video, one of the men is seen scooping the thick, orange-tinted mud from the roadway with a sack, working under supervision as motorbikes and other road users navigate around the affected stretch of road.
The muddy spillage, believed to be linked to nearby illegal mining activities, had reportedly made portions of the road difficult and hazardous to pass through.
The exercise reflects the recurring impact of galamsey activities on road infrastructure and mobility in mining-affected areas of the Ashanti Region, where illegal mining operations have repeatedly caused road damage, water pollution, and disruptions to daily life for residents and commuters alike.
It has not been disclosed whether any formal action was taken against those responsible for the mining activity linked to the spillage, or whether the affected stretch of road will undergo further repairs.
