A 42-year-old farmer has been arrested in Ogun State for allegedly abus!ng a 12-year-old girl.
Ganiu Agbajo was detained by local security operatives after a report came in on September 7.
The girl had cried while walking home, and when her mother questioned her, the child said a man had r@ped her on his farmland.
The mother alerted neighbours, who immediately reported the incident to the So-Safe Corps, a community safety organisation.
Officers went to Agbajo’s home and arrested him.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to committing the crime on his farm in the area.
The state commander of the corps praised residents for acting quickly and urged the public to report any suspicious or unlawful behaviour to the agency immediately.
The suspect has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
