Four more corpses have been found floating on the river four days after the tragic incident at Okrika Town in Okrika local government area of Rivers State.
Scores of persons were killed after inhaling poisonous fumes while attempting to siphon petroleum products from a crude oil pipeline.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state, Olufemi Ayodele confirmed the development.
“One of the victims earlier identified was Taribo Levia, whose remains have reportedly been buried according to the traditional customs of the community. Other deceased persons reportedly sighted include Ogoloma Tamunoene Fred, Amiso, and Belema Siyerminma from Ngabiri.,” he said.
